The Atglen Public Library is hosting its 22nd Annual Spring Book Sale, Community Yard Sale, and Bake Sale on Saturday, May 9th from 8 am to 2 pm.

This month Chester County is offering a second free household hazardous collection waste event. The event is on April 25 at the Octorara High School, 226 Highland Road, Atglen. The event starts at 9 am and finishes at 3 pm. At the April 6th Council meeting Borough Council approved a resolution to establish the Junior Council Person Program (JCP). This programs seeks to educate and involve the Borough teens in their local government, to nurture our future community leaders, and to benefit the municipality as a whole by giving our youth a voice. Mayor Brian Wenzka is taking JCP applications from now until June 30th. Preferred applicants are junior and senior high school students who reside in the Borough. Freshmen and sophomores may apply but a priority ranking is given to juniors and seniors. Interviews are conducted in July with the appointment(s) being made in August. Please place both your trash and recycling containers out for Wednesday pickup (it may be best to set them out on Tuesday evening). Two collection trucks will come for pickup, one for trash and one for recycling. The trucks will come at separate times.
